Our league, Northern California Junior Lacrosse Assocation, adopted new Divisions for the 2009 Lacrosse season consistent with the national level and recognized by US Lacrosse and the Youth Council. Below is a summary of the divisions, for more details visit www.ncjlax.org.

Novato Lacrosse Club teams will depend on registration levels and are subject to change. Senior, Junior and Lightning will include both A & B divisions which will be determined by coaching staff once Fall Ball is complete. See Team Level Information below for more information. All players must register for their "true age" group initially until any decision is made by the NLC Board on final placement.
Bantam level is a non-competitive league that will be purely for the introduction of lacrosse to the younger player. There will be no formal post season playoffs or championships. A final jamboree will be played among multiple clubs in Southern Marin at the end of the season. Bantam jamborees are typically played on Sunday afternoons.
Team Level Information
The NLC wants to insure that all club players participating on teams designated “B” by the Northern California Junior Lacrosse Association (NCJLA) receive as close to equal playing time as possible. “B” level is the beginning to intermediate level for lacrosse. NLC promotes equal playing time for all “B” programs with the exception of the 4th quarter which is designated the “Coach Quarter” allowing any player the coach deems ready to play. Equal playing time shall be the objective of the first three quarters of each game.
Teams that are designated “A” by the NCJLA are more competitive, thus players must try out for these teams. The Head Coach shall fully explain to the players making this team what their roles may be for the team. Not all players on A teams will receive equal playing time. |
